Innocent Update

August 31, 2026

Today I woke to find a few pictures of our orphan rescue child named Innocent. Innocent was picked up out of a drainage ditch at 1:30 in the morning as an infant.

Innocent Update

So Sophie, an elderly, very poor woman living in a slum area of Lira, Uganda, was known for her huge heart and for caring for kids. When people heard crying in the early morning hours, they came and got her. Sophie found Innocent abandoned in a sewer ditch with sores on his body, left for dead. She took him to the hospital and later worked with authorities for a year or more to try and locate the mother. Sophie eventually took custody of Innocent and cared for him as best she could, though she had no means to do so. When Family Voice Church found him, the picture of him was so telling—a big frown on his face and no hope.

In 2025, when I last went to Uganda, I just had to find her and meet her. We went to the slum where she lives and chatted for half an hour before we had to leave. I got a chance to personally thank her for what she had done.

It has been around three years now that Innocent has been in private school and living with Sophie's daughter in town, as well as being discipled by the church. Every time I see him, it warms my heart and fuels my drive to help the ministry in Uganda.

Our farm project named "The Amolatar Project" is our hope for a substantial source of income for the church and our hope that many more kids can be rescued. There are lots of things that need to happen before we get there. This week for instance I am attempting to get a drone survey of the land so that we over here in the US can see the farm up close and better plan where to plant crops and build structures.

Thank You for being a supporter!
