We hired a firm in Uganda to do a land assessment with their drone for agricultural and overall planning purposes. IMPORTANT UPDATE follows the pictures below.
We now have an extensive report with tons of photos and videos too. Brothers For Christ board members will meet in November at our retreat in Oklahoma to strategize the goat farm growth and success plan. Please pray for us as none of us has ever farmed or lived on a farm. We need to decide where to carve out areas for crop production and for additional goat housing as the herd grows. The photos and video give us a tremendous view of the 17 acres which otherwise we would have had to travel to Africa to get. The plan as you may be aware is to get and maintain a herd size of 300+ goats which they then can sell 200 or more a year at $100 average each. $20,000 annual revenue would give them self sufficiency for the most part.
On a sad note we had a lightning strike take out our security cameras on 1 side of the farm. We believe we should install lightening arrestors as well as repair the system with the approaching massive El Nino season. It is unexpected expenses like these that we are currently unprepared for because we just do not have the level of monthly support we need to create a cushion. Nearly 100% of all donations go directly to Uganda and the people that need it most. Your gifts already have had a lasting impact and we are deeply humbled and grateful to you.
Please pray for an abundance of new donors and monthly donations so we can stay strong and finish the job of building the farm.
God Bless you,
Mark
